Is the law an ass?

Maybe it was just as well as yesterday's post was lost as things have changed.

Someone has been taken into custody related to the missing Ballarat woman Samantha Murphy, a 22 year old male. He is the son of a former Australian Rules football player. The judge slapped a suppression order on naming him as he is in danger of self harm.

Later Edit: The suppression order was lifted the next day and the suspect above has now been named. The alleged murderer was named on International Women's Day. It shows just how far we still have to go with safety for alone women in public spaces. Reassure yourselves, at least in Australia, that such crimes are extremely rare and so make the news for days and days.

I doubt anyone would doubt that the New South Wales policeman is not in danger of self harm. The gay man accused of murdering two men, who cosied up to celebrities, stalked the  minor celebrity man of his desire, one Jessie Baird and killed him with a police pistol as is alleged, and Jessie's partner, the Australian Rules Football umpire Luke Davies. It is such a sad case, and if he is found guilty, I would judge it was a crime of passion by a mentally unstable man. It is puzzling how this wasn't picked at some time during his police service. Could it be that employment diversity went a bit too far? Or are the NSW police force so desperate to increase and retain police force numbers?

Beaumont Lamarre-Condon seems as mad as a meat axe, yet he has been well and truly named. Photo from the Star Observer.

Climate change protestors parked a hire van across three of four lanes, leaving only one lane open on a major bridge linking the western suburbs to the City over the Yarra River. They were eventually moved by police, charged and the next day two were sentenced to 21 days in gaol in spite of pleading not guilty. That's speedy justice, whether deserved or not.

I am not saying this case would be any more speedily dealt with in Australia, but how about what is happened with the Australian soccer star Sam Kerr? She plays for Chelsea in England and from what I read and read into it she was in a taxi, threw up, refused to pay the cleaning charge for the cab, police were called and now it is unclear what she called him. It could have been 'stupid white cop', rather than 'stupid white bastard'.

Nevertheless, neither phrase is nice and not decent public behaviour, and she has lost a lot of respect. But get this. It has taken one year after the incident for her to be charged and it will be another year before the case goes to trial!

I am sure members of  the English police force get called much worse to their faces. I am not sure why she was charged. Famous Aussie football star married dyke with darkish skin getting a bit lippy? Take her down a peg or two.

Whatever, Sam has disappointed us greatly.

Mother's Lusts

No one wants to think about their parents doing the biz but they must have, and as our own children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews won't want to think about us doing the biz.

While I am old, I have my memories of doing rather too much of the biz when I was younger. Now I am old and jaded but I do still have a strong interest in the biz.

Naturally I don't think of my mother as being a sexual person, and I remember Mother saying to me her parents must have done the biz at least once to conceive her. Maybe her parents were like animals on heat?  Who knows.

As I said, we don't want to think about it really.

Like her Number 1 son, Mother did get rather excited by male pop stars and actors of her time.

Bad boy Johnny O'Keefe was one.

Gene Pitney. (Not a bad song really)

Ryan O'Neill in the tv show Peyton Place.

Australian pop star John Farnham. Extra good when she received a wave from him as his taxi sat next to Step Father's car, along with she and Step Father dining at the same pub at a coastal holiday area.

And then there was her doctors. She had a regular doctor who she had a love/hate relationship with. She called him Doctor Dumbo because he couldn't fix her old age age problems. If Doctor Dumbo wasn't there she would see an Indian or Sri Lankan born doctor. "I couldn't concentrate. He was so handsome, so nicely dressed, beautiful thick black hair and had the most beautiful large liquid brown eyes".

Mother and son!

Lost post

I hit one key and my whole post disappeared, leaving me only with an aitch. Strangely the labels for the post remain. Ah well, plenty of stuffs for you to see elsewhere on the net.

Maybe I will put something up later that is already baked.

The Larger Ladies

I am not really interested in fashion and this blog owner Matt normally posts luscious photos of cars, so this is a bit left of field for him. You may or may not be of a large size nevertheless some may find the photos of fashion for larger women interesting, in turn part of Melbourne Fashion Festival. While people watching, I like seeing well dressed larger women. Some larger women try to pretend they aren't larger, and that does not work.

I am taking a chance that Matt won't mind me using one of his photos to publicise his post. He is an excellent photographer.

I could have posted cloud photos!

I believe this is from an old English tv show. It is simple humour and I like its subtlety.

Vic Flange goes to  pour Evelyn Blunt a glass of wine.

Evelyn: "Not for me, thank you".

Vic: "No? Don't drink?"

Evelyn: "I tried it once and didn't like it."

Vic: "Oh. Have a smoke?:

Evelyn: "No. I tried it once and didn't like it."

Vic: "How strange."

Evelyn: "Not at all. My daughter is just the same."

Vic: "Only child?"

Evelyn: "She is."

Monday Mural

I'm joining in with Sami and others for Monday Mural. Now what do I have in the vault? How about emus.

Well, that's not an emu and I have no idea what bird it is.

This is an emu and I can't say it is a fabulous mural but I do like the baby emus at bird's feet, and yes they are striped when young.

I think this mural is great, with a reminder of our indigenous people.

Sunday Selections

I will be joined by River and others for Sunday Selections.

A sculpture in front of the former St Kilda Road Police Station, now an office building with a cafe at its base.

Near Southern Cross Station you can see this life sized upended tram sculpture.

This looks a bit scary.

The West End of town. A high rise building incorporating the old. If you want more pretention, there is an Upper West Side.

Delivery and night soil lanes have become a thing in Melbourne.

An English black cab servicing Melbourne.

Perfect horizontal and vertical lines.

Then there is curved building that spoils the perfect lines. The glass enclosed with wide opening large windows at the front are balconies, pretentiously called Winter Gardens.

I left this out when I showed a photo of Gordon House.

A nice enough small garden near Parliament Station. I can't remember if it Chinese or Japanese.

Mid winter photos of Berwick views from Mother's hospital.

I've come to like Federation Square as a public space. It seems other have too.

Somewhere in Carlton. I can't remember. That these tall slim chimneys have withstood rain, hail and tempest for at least around 130 years is truly amazing. Well done to those brick layers.

Caught up

I've been so busy being a retired person, along with answering blog comments and reading blogs, I haven't had time to write a post f...
