Sydney Day 9 continued

As I said, some photos of the view of the hotel rooftop. We'll begin with East Sydney, or is it Darlinghurst. I've never worked out the difference.

Sydney Harbour is visible.

Jacarandas were at their best towards the end of my visit. Oddly, in inner western Sydney, they has passed their best.

Paddington to the right.

The war memorial in Hyde Park.

The view of the city. Centre Point Tower has changed it's name so many times, but I still call it by its original name. We've dined at the revolving restaurant near the top of the tower. The experience was pretty cool.

I think this is looking down Wentworth Street.

  1. Great views.
I always enjoyed my visits to Sydney. Last time we stayed in a hotel overlooking Circular Quay and the Opera House. I spent a long time looking out of the window!

    1. I must check where that is. Looking down on the trains and ferries, and now trams would be cool.

  6. It is a great city but I wouldn't want to live there anymore. I lived there from 1949 to 1963

  7. I looked up why Sydney is called Sydney...after Thomas Townshend, the 1st Viscount Sydney, who was the British Home Secretary at the time the first British colony was being established in Australia.

  8. Interesting enough, but not a lot of Jacarandas that I could see. If ours in Adelaide bloomed I didn't notice, I didn't even see dropped flowers on the footpaths. I have eaten at the revolving restaurant and at the one here at Glenelg too.

    1. Maybe Strayer, don't put anything on the shelf next to the windows. You will be separated from whatever you put there
