I'm joining with Sami and others for Monday Murals.
I saw this mural as I passed by in a tram. If your travel one way by tram, you have to return to get home, so I was prepared on the return journey to take this snap. It's nothing too wonderful but my eyes are certainly drawn towards the lion.
I like the look of the lion. That majestic-looking beast could have been the whole mural.
ReplyDeleteIndeed Kirk. The lion almost looks human.
DeleteIt's got a jungle and Star Wars theme happening. i mean, that is a Star Wars robot on the right, right?
ReplyDeleteBob, I am totally ignorant about Star Wars except for Luke Skywalker?, someone in one of the early films.
DeleteThe lion has a somewhat exasperated expression hasn't he. I quite like the frog too.
ReplyDeleteJayCee, as usual I never looked closely enough to see the frog, but I have now.
DeleteI think it is delightful - though I can't see JayCee's frog.
ReplyDeleteTop right hand corner, blending with the leaves, look for the eye.
DeleteAs River said.
DeleteI think it is well painted but the scenes seem to lack cohesiveness. I wonder what the Lion means?
ReplyDeleteSami's comment below tells you about the Lion.
DeleteThat looks so fabulous. Love the art
ReplyDeleteThanks Roentare. We both had good ones this week.
DeleteI love it! A lion plus lots of colour, a feast for the eyes.
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it River.
DeleteIt is really lovely...I had to make it bigger, (clicked on it) so thanks for putting a good sized photo there Andrew.
ReplyDeleteMargaret, yes, if you right click and open my photos at full size, you do see more detail.
DeleteA colorful lion at that.
ReplyDeleteTP, it is.
DeleteNice find Andrew. I wondered about the lion and Fitzroy bowling club, but I see their symbol includes a lion. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals.
ReplyDeleteSami, a personal duh moment for me. In behind the bowling club is the grounds of the Fitzroy Football Club that changed to be the AFL team Brisbane Lions. Of course the lion image lives on, and that is why there is a lion in the work, even though the bowling club is also using the image.
DeleteThe lion made me think of Aslan from Narnia.
ReplyDeleteJB, I won't be disingenuous and say a I don't know of the Chronicles, but really, I have no interest in the books. So, I'll take you word on that.

ReplyDeleteI like the mural ! Anyway far better then a naked concrete wall !
Quite so Gattina.
DeleteEye catching that's for sure
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
Thanks. Have I made a new online friend?
Delete😀👍
DeleteIt looks like they thought the mural would deter graffiti, but sadly, that hasn't been the case.
ReplyDeleteHonouring murals by not tagging them seems to be a thing of the past Steve.
DeleteToo bad about the tagging. The lion is fabulous, Andrew.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat.
DeleteI find this quite delightful. :D Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased you like it Darla.
