"Daddy, what's a felon?"
"My boy, he is someone who has committed a serious crime."
"But our last President is now being called a felon, so he committed a serious crime?"
"Yes, my boy, he did. He has been convicted by our courts after legal proceedings".
Silence.
"Daddy, why is he so popular when he is a bad man?"
"Son, some things in this world we are just not meant to understand."
Caricature by Nora Gad.
I really hope it is the first of several more convictions.
ReplyDeleteEC, don't we we all want to see him cuffed and in prisoner gear and taken away.
DeleteIs this the face of the next US President?
ReplyDeleteI hope not Fun60. The US needs to rebalance itself with an inspirational leader with enough power to make the wrongs right.
DeleteI am astounded...bigly...
ReplyDeleteJayCee, I confess to being a little surprised at the result.
DeleteThat is called democracy
ReplyDeleteRoentare, in a country with a very flawed democratic system. But our own is far from perfect.
DeleteWhat a nightmare ... And not just in the USA. Very serious crimes were committed in many other countries :(
ReplyDeleteIndeed Hels, but they weren't the supposed leader of the free world.
DeleteI liked what I once read. In America we have freedom to...
In Europe we have freedom from...
How true. So many criminals are not in jail but perpetrating their crimes with gay abandon. (Anguish close to my heart at present!)
ReplyDeleteQuite true JB, as is happening here. I am sure there is quite a story behind your last sentence.
DeleteBut do we put rich men in prison?
ReplyDeleteAsk Martha Stewart.
DeleteWell, sometimes Thelma, but so rarely for corporate and business crimes, so called white collar crime.
DeleteShe is a good example TP.
DeleteHe's the best felon. He was guilty of 100% of the charges. No failures there.
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't ask for a better felon. The sleeze factor is amazing. The dishonesty is so consistent
Kylie, yes, such a high felon achievement. We can individually list his flaws, but to generalise, he is a terrible person and deserves to be locked up.
DeleteIt is about time.
ReplyDeleteTP, and aren't we all cheering, but some are not.
DeleteFelon. It has a nice ring to it in this case.
ReplyDeleteBob, someone who has committed felonious activity, and he certainly did.
DeleteWhat caricature? I'd call that a photorealist portrait.
ReplyDeleteI might too Steve.
DeleteWhat a crazy world we are living in.
ReplyDeletePat, while the world is affected by him, at least he isn't your leader.
DeleteNora Gad's caricature is quite brilliant. The original meaning of the term "felon" was "a wicked person" which seems very apposite for Trump. Throw in "vile", "crafty" and "narcissistic" and you have got him in a nutshell.
ReplyDeleteYP, you are being too fair to him.
DeleteIt's good to give everybody the benefit of the doubt - even a loathsome, entitled, predatory, draft dodging insurrectionist.
DeleteI am also delighted that IF he becomes president again he cannot pardon himself. He will of course appeal but I hope (fervently) that he fails.
ReplyDeleteEC, that could happen but I am sure most of us think like you do.
DeleteExplaining this awful evil orange sub-human with the dead ferret stapled to his head to a child is an enormous challenge. And the millions who worship at his smelly feet. ( I hear he stinks from every pore in his body)
ReplyDeleteThat strange planet called America.
XO
WWW
WWW, we have satirical news tv show here called Planet America. It is very good.
DeleteI don't understand why anybody would support him. That caricature is dead on though.
ReplyDeleteIt is a mystery Pixie, especially religious people supporting him.
DeleteHad he been found not guilty, there would have been no stopping him. I hoping this at least give some voters second thoughts about voting for him.
ReplyDeleteThe polls are already giving an indication, Kirk.
DeleteI will never understand why so many follow and revere him even after all he has done.
ReplyDeleteme, too.
DeleteRiver and Dora, no decent person does seem to understand.
DeleteI never thought I would see anything like this in my life time. A disgrace.
ReplyDeleteI feel for you Dora.
DeleteHow the mighty are fallen springs to mind.........we have a loo brush holder that is a caricature of said felon Trump.........rather tacky but I smile every time I scrub the loo out 😉
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
That's funny Alison. Scrub hard and break the brush and he will break too.
DeleteHahaha, his face looks like a love killer !
ReplyDeleteGattina, the horror at the thought of having his body next to you.
