A wise blogger would dribble out these photos, most taken on different days and receive admiration for each photo. I am not a wise blogger, but what I do seems to work well enough.
At certain times during a year I arise at the correct time of 7am to see balloons in the sky.
PS To save you some possible anxt, remember today is Valentine's Day. It is not a day to forget for some, or you will be in big trouble.
Happy Valentine's. That was a grand birthday gift from R. Though, it must have been a very early gift since you're only twenty-five;) I especially love the 4th pic of the balloons floating over the city.

Thanks Sandra, but your Valentine wishes were wasted. Not a happy couple today. In the fourth photo are buildings in the suburb of South Yarra, all residential and none were there when we moved here twenty plus years ago.
DeleteThey are always an impressive sight. From the ground. I am far too cowardly to actually go up in one.
ReplyDeleteI am with you, Jaycee. A very impressive sight, but there are already plenty of risks to life and limb to take on another one.
DeleteBy the way, do passengers on the balloons take cameras up with them? There would be some sensational photos.
JayCee, a little bravery is needed but there have a near perfect record here. There has been some strange landing places at times though.
DeleteGreat photographs. My flight was in California - interesting, but I think a
ReplyDeleteUK flight might be better - a desert is a desert is a desert.
JB, I would just have no interest is floating over a desert. Our flight went from the centre of the city over suburbs to very outer suburbs. I loved how some dogs barked at us.
DeleteThe balloons look so wonderful there
ReplyDeleteRoentare, I never tire of seeing them and missed them during lockdown.
DeleteMy husband and I were gifted a hot air balloon flight from my parents in the 2000's. There were six of us total, another paid passenger couple and the two operators. Even without that memorable occasion I enjoy seeing them overhead. And once, I heard a horrendous sound over our rooftop and it turned out to be a hot air balloon coming down to land in a neighbor's field.
ReplyDelete:D
Darla, yes they do land in strange places at times. Where was your balloon flight? Locally?
DeleteOur flight was local; thanks for asking. We departed from our regional Warren County airfield in Lebanon, Ohio. It's quite a scenic area. Best wishes!
DeleteLovely and impressive photos my friend! Aloha
ReplyDeleteThank you Cloudia.
DeleteThanks for the Valentine's Day reminder. I plan to make her ladyship a special meal of fish fingers, chips and garden peas. There will also be some tartare sauce, vinegar and ketchup. As an extra treat, there'll be mugs of tea. I have always been a romantic bloke.
ReplyDeleteHer ladyship may tell you where to stick your fish fingers. You could have done better.
DeleteThanks for these, cheered me up right proper they did.

WWW
They are nice to wake up to, WWW. It's a very early start for them at this time of the year.
DeleteIf I cared less about Valentine's Day I'd be dead.
ReplyDeleteI love the balloons, we don't see any here in Adelaide, so thanks for those.
River, probably you don't see balloons for the same reason as they are not seen in central Sydney, the closeness of your airports.
DeleteOf course! The airport.
DeleteThe original air travel.
ReplyDeleteKirk, and then overdeveloped with the Hindenburg.
DeleteNice captures of the ballons Andrew. Not Valentine's Day in this house..lol
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret. Why no Valentine's?
DeleteLucky you seeing them so close. We’d have to be out in the valley really really early to get that view. And you were the lucky one to have such a gift - we’ve ’thought about it’ but it’s just a a bit too pricy. . About $900 for the two of us!
ReplyDeleteCathy, we landed close to the Yarra Valley, if not in it. It was a long time ago. The flight included a champagne breakfast at The Langford Hotel at Southbank. It's a bit of a guess but I think it was about $350 for the two of us.
DeleteIt must look awesome in real life. How did you fare in the storm? Have you got power?
ReplyDeleteDiane, I do enjoy seeing them. I wish some would come closer so I could wave to the passengers. The worst thing that happened to us was I went onto the balcony to observe the storm and sudden heavy rain and wind drove a wave of water along the balcony and my socks got wet. Our power is all delivered underground, so it's not a issue for us.
DeleteA hot air balloon ride is still on my to do list.
ReplyDeleteTP, don't wait to long.
DeleteThese shots are wonderful and rather magical, Andrew.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat.
DeleteBeing the lovestruck architects of romance that we are, our big plans are put on hold until tomorrow. We will be driving to the big city for Tim's therapy, and on the way home, we're stopping at an 'Op Shop' to look for a lampshade.
ReplyDeleteDebby, that's what I call living. I hope it goes well for Tim.
DeleteThat's a dream of mine ! Once a balloon ride , but in my reduced family there is nobody keen to do it. My DIL who is afraid about her own shadow would never go, my normally adventurous son was rather reluctant, only little 1.83 m long Toby would come with me, if the helicopter parents would let him ! Now he starts to get a deep voice and sends his Dad to hell he prefers now to play with his friends. No girls yet !
ReplyDeleteGattina, just like typical teenage boys.
DeleteI envy you having such a great view of the balloons.
ReplyDeleteMarie, we never get bored with the view.
Deletespectacular balloon photos Andrew.
ReplyDeleteThanks Strayer.
