I am joining in with Sami and others for Monday Mural.
Artist Lushsux is quite a prolific muralist. You can read a bit about him here and see some of his work here.
It's a pity about the graffiti over this work of his.
No Sami mural this week, but here is mine, in a rather timely manner as controversial cartoonist Michael Leunig died a few days ago at he a...
Interesting. It is excellent that he can make a living from his art. Sigh at the graffiti. Here murals are mostly left unadorned. Mostly.
ReplyDeleteSome have an urge to deface - maybe it's envy, but it's a shame.
ReplyDeleteThis artist definitely has a unique voice! Thank you for sharing friend. Aloha!
ReplyDeleteDon't you agree that Melbourne mural arts tend to be tagged so readily as soon as they were painted?
ReplyDeleteYou would think the taggers would respect the artist's work.
ReplyDeleteIt just goes to show that taggers are not artists.
ReplyDeleteSuch a crime. Losers deface art to show off their power, envy.
ReplyDeleteWow...
ReplyDeleteImpressive and someone always has to spoil some art.
ReplyDeleteSad, someone had to ruin his work.
ReplyDeletePublic Art deserves the same respect as art inside galleries, schools, churches and railway stations. Why would anyone try to destroy someone else's labour?
ReplyDeleteThat graffiti is a crying shame! I guess someone was jealous of the artist's work, which we can still see enough of to appreciate.
ReplyDeleteThat is a striking mural. shame about the graffiti
ReplyDeleteSuch thoughtless people, too much time on their hands?
ReplyDeleteI can see some Hollywood actors in this mural. What a pity it has been defaced. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Andrew.
ReplyDeleteInteresting mural. I rather like the green man but definitely do not like the graffiti.
ReplyDeleteThat's the sad thing about street art; someone is always coming along to add their own two cents to someone else's work.
ReplyDeleteVery much an urban street scene
ReplyDeleteGraffiti is often excused as art, but in that top picture it's nothing more than vandalism.
ReplyDeleteSad but sort of inevitable. I think the graffiti folks are jealous of those who have the ability and stick-to-itiveness to make a real art work.
ReplyDeletebest, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
The tagging is a shame. Maybe Lushsux painted over someone's earlier graffiti and they're annoyed. This happens in the world of street art.
