I'm joining with Sami and others for Monday Murals.
These were on hoardings around the Metro Underground Rail construction site for the Christmas period. I didn't really look at them as I quickly snapped them. They aren't half bad and rather fun murals. The tops of them are loose and sparkle with a breeze and sunlight. The hoardings are now displaying Aboriginal art.
A fun and whimsical display of Australian wildlife.
ReplyDeleteKirk, whimsical is a good word to describe them.
DeleteThey are a heap of fun. Definitely smile producing.
ReplyDeleteQuite inventive, EC.
DeleteNow they really are different- wonder if they used a stencil? Man-animal hybrid come to life, almost unreal
ReplyDeleteCathy, maybe a stencil was used for the outer ring. I have a memory that it was similar if not the same last year.
DeleteI saw them on Swanston St. Quite a fun series of glowing murals at night
ReplyDeleteRoentare, I am sure they would be good to see at night, but I didn't.
DeleteWhat a great idea. There should be more of this sort of thing. Might stop the mindless tagging.
ReplyDeleteCaro, no one ever tags the quite good and different artwork on the hoardings.
DeleteThey do look good, I like them. I often take photos of 'things' and look at them later.
ReplyDeleteMargaret, it shows how much we don't see directly with out eyes.
DeleteQuit fun Christmas themed murals. I like that they sparkle too :) Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Andrew
ReplyDeleteThanks Sami. I wish I had seen them at night time but 9pm is so late.
DeleteIt's funny how going out after dark becomes less interesting with age. Ah, to relive my thirties... Actually, that decade is probably not as ideal as my memories. lol These murals are fun.
DeleteDarla, our memories about such things are ever so selective.
DeleteI love them! Very colorful and fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks Steve. Colourful they certainly are.
DeleteThey are stunning and striking. I was impressed with the examples of art so very different from anything I would see in my country.
ReplyDeleteB & E, thanks. For every person who stops to look at them or photograph them, twenty will walk past without seeming to notice them.
