Linking to Sami, here is this week's Monday Mural, the photo being taken by my friend Wombat. There are so many birds with different looks and by the nearby buildings, the scale of the work is huge. How do muralists have the concept of creating such works?

It's very eye-catching !
ReplyDeleteI often wonder the same thing; it takes such a special kind of vision to map out something that massive and keep the proportions so perfect.
ReplyDeleteThat is stunning! The best I can do with paint is copy something. lol Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Lovely birds.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful and colourful. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Andrew.

ReplyDeleteThey use computers and grids that are then enlarged. Lasered lines are used by some.
I got caught up on your prolifitary. New word from me. Those fires are dreadful, having lived through our horrors here last Summer I have a better understanding now. Jass is a sweetie. And lovely news on the new rail being so silent under your building.

Before computers, I wonder if muralists somehow sketched it out on a building.
ReplyDeleteYorkshire Pudding said it first and I'll second that. I think murals this large would have been quite difficult in the days before CAD programs, and therefore more exciting to see and enthuse over. I do like this one though.
ReplyDeleteVery bold. I like it Andrew
ReplyDeleteBirds make such great subjects for art work. I love the enormous image.
ReplyDeleteGreat bird mural!
ReplyDeleteI suppose it is a bit like how crop circles are drawn on the fields. You get your graph paper and then just big it up.
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonder to wonder how the scale is done. It's a nice mural, Andrew.
ReplyDeleteNice birds.
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of it all.
ReplyDeleteI love the style of this one, Andrew.
