I need a break for one day of blogging, so minimal effort today.
Monday is an annoying day for me as I have to hang around home, this day until 12.30, awaiting my meals delivery. At least the cafe opposite has reopened after the Christmas/New Year break, so I can duck across the road before 11 for coffee.
At some point today I cleaned out the air conditioner drip tray of sludge. There was some screwing involved. I was careful with my back while screwing. I brushed the dried sludge free and then used the stick vac on its high setting to extract the muck.
I then went out for a couple of hours, maybe less, to capture a mural photo. It was a Metro Tunnel train to State Library and then a tram. I noticed the mural when I was teaching Phyllis to drive, somewhere in Carlton. Ok, I'll come back and take a photo. Of course I will remember the location. But then I could not remember where it was. Using Street View, I did find it, and took photos, that have somehow disappeared into the ethernet. Another troll of Street View and I found it again, and for the second time, I've taken photos.
What else happened today? I was individually wrapping my sandwiches from my food delivery and Jass jumped up on the bench. I pushed her off and did so again when she jumped up the second time. She was very cross and did some zoomies, ducked into under the lounge chair, then came out to scratch the standing lamp, and claw at the carpet. I am quite good at ignoring bad behaviour. She settled down after a bit.
The Metro Tunnel timetable has been released. As I guessed, the times I will use the train, it will be a ten minute service. We were promised a turn up and go timetable, and I don't consider a ten minute wait is turn up and go. But having said that, the am/pm peak services look good. There are some improvements with other lines, with more to come as the year goes on.
Phyllis fed me with something he had prepared earlier, some delicious chicken drumsticks, a fried egg of course, fresh beetroot and a leafy salad with a tomato. As I type, Phyllis and Kosov have gone out for a walk, which I suggested was a romantic walk in the cool evening air. Kosov was not feeling romantic, but saying he would bend Phyllis...........
Well this is quite a mind boggler for a non post!
ReplyDeleteFinger runaway, JayCee.
DeleteI'm so glad you didn't hurt your back with your screwing:) Between that and the bollard, you lead a much more active live than I was led to believe.
ReplyDeletePixie, I don't and I no longer care.
DeleteLOL, me neither!
Delete"Screwing" had a totally different meaning when I was young!
ReplyDeleteReally Hels! I must look that up.
DeleteKosov was feeling something!
ReplyDeleteI reckon so Kirk.
DeleteYou seem to be a capable person who can duck here and duck and even have lodgers who can cook if necessary, so it's a mystery why you have meals on wheels.
ReplyDeleteAndrew has convinced himself that he is old. But also he had 45 years of Ray cooking for him.
DeleteAussiebel, they do cook for me, but I can't eat curry and spicy food all the time. As MC says above, I was spoilt , and before that by my mother, step mother and grandmother. I have movement disorder, mostly in my hands and so a sharp knife in my hands is very dangerous. It is hereditary and I know will become worse as I age. After the death of my partner, I mostly bought decent quality prepared meals, not from a supermarket. Under Commonwealth Home Support, I receive three, three course meals a week, for which I pay $34. I am entitled to some cleaning too, but I can't get anyone, although it is a while since I tried. Nor can I get a grab rail put in my shower, which I am also entitled to.
DeleteWhy can't you get the rail for the shower... it seems like a good precaution.
DeleteOoh. I do not ignore bad cat behavior. A sharp 'huh-aaay, knock it off" generally stops them both in their tracks.
ReplyDeleteDebby, I do draw the line at her damaging anything, otherwise, if she wants to tear around like a processed person, I let her.
DeleteUmm to me it's the second jumping up when and where you are dealing with food which is the issue. Obviously the message hasn't filtered in. Maybe not enough consistent messaging from P and K?
DeleteZoomies fine.
I do have some sympathy for a cat confined indoors.
The lads tried her outside on a halter and it did not go well. She was scared and Kosov ended up carrying her. She goes out onto the balcony and seems to be happy enough with that. However, she really is an outdoor hunting cat. Her hunting skills are very obvious.
DeleteI agree that you need to be careful with your back when screwing.
ReplyDeleteI did hurt my back badly several years ago when unscrewing something on the air conditioning, and it took about eight months to heal. A lesson was learnt, about being at awkward angles.
DeleteThanks for the reminder, I need to clean the aircon filters here. It's a complicated job which involves moving furniture and standing on the table, that's why I keep putting it off. My brother in another state is now a Meals on Wheels deliverer.
ReplyDeleteRiver, do be careful. I clean mine about every six months. Is that the old style volunteer delivery of Meals on Wheels, or the recent paid by government delivery?
DeleteI really like your non-posting posts. I love glimpses into others' lives and often learn.

WWW
WWW, don't we all learn a bit about each other, even if a person never talks about personal matters, eventually little bits slip through and you begin to get a mental picture. We will never stop learning and then, poof, all that information dies with you. It seems such a waste.
DeleteOMG Andrew, that's very existential.
Delete"that have somehow disappeared into the ethernet"
ReplyDeleteThat's an inventive new usage for "ethernet" but I do know what you mean. These days the cloud which is being pushed on us by our technofeudal overlords has totally stuffed my sense of where any of my data is. Amongst other things, older hierarchy seems to have totally collapsed.
I see what you mean about ethernet, but I am sure I've seen it used in the context I used it. I have one place in the cloud I use for storage, but it is also backed on this hard drive, another HDD , and an SSD.
Deleteolder hierarchy = folder hierarchy!
ReplyDeleteSeems the screwing went well without any injuries, it pays to be careful at your age, Andrew..lol
ReplyDeleteI have forgotten all about that Margaret.
DeleteA good post, and a great last sentence fragment.
ReplyDelete😊
