Monday Mural

Along with Sami in Perth, I am participating in Monday Mural again.

This is a bit different for a mural. I wonder if it is unfinished. The front bumper looks odd. Note the black patches at the front of the rear mudguard. These were usually rubber and prevented the paintwork being chipped by stones flying up from the roadway. That appears to the Jaguar body ornament on the bonnet, so it's fair to assume the brand of car. Anyway, I like it.

  2. I wonder whether you are right about it being unfinished. It is great anyway but would be interesting to go back later.

  5. I checked Google imagery. This car mural was not present in 2016 but it appeared some time in 2017. Pretty good endurance for a mural.

    1. YP, I think it faces south and so avoids the killer sun. That would be north to you.

  7. thecontemplativecat here. I sincerely thought it was real. The detail is so great. If it were not in b/w, I would not have paid any attention.

  8. I like it. Wasn't there a time in the past when bumpers weren't solid all the way along?

    1. River, no they weren't. They were attached to the car rather than being part of the car as they are now.

  9. Looks alright to me, but then I don't know very much about cars and their details Andrew.

    1. Margaret, well you know about mudguards being protected by rubber now. That will score you points when you next visit the Evandale car display.

  10. Very nice. Being picky, I would have preferred it without the woman!

    1. JB, I can't agree. I think she adds so much to the photo and she is very well painted. I suspect it is a copy of a real photo.
