Miss Harris goes to not Paris but Washington

An attempt at humour involving the film Mrs Harris goes to Paris

This Harris person seems like she might be a good fit as President of the United States. I wondered why as Vice President, she kept a lowish profile. Ha, she was saving and accumulating her ammunition. She remained a respectful junior to President Biden until he retired. Look at her big....forehead. There is a lot of brain in there.

Her or the party's choice as her Vice President running mate seems to be a good one, a decent fellow with a lot of experience and perhaps better at connecting to Hillary's accurate but unwise phrase, the basket of deplorables.

OK, I'll put my brave hand down with my left foot and call it. Harris will win. Surely Americans are over the god awful orange and hysterical #45 who brought such terrible division to the country, as the world watched wide eyed and gobsmacked. Sadly many in the world lost respect for the US. It just seemed too crazy to comprehend.

You know one really good thing about the US is that behind the scenes, administrative government goes on. At times fraudsters will be caught out. Corruption will be rooted out. Dodgy companies will be called to account. Large and powerful companies will be questioned about their practices in a public forum. #45 will go down in history as a shocker.

Seems kind of like my own country really, reactive rather than proactive.

  1. I really hope that Harris will win - but am not as confident as you.

I don't have your confidence but I'm cautiously optimistic and beginning to feel like I can breathe again. Most of us were also gobsmacked that a crook managed to get installed as he did, shenanigans there. And to see that thing rise again is almost more than I can bear. Good people are working hard to get this country back on track to hold our heads up. Okay, I'll get off my stump now.... yeah, I get wound up and passionate about politics.

  3. I have a good vibe about her. At least, she talks like she is not demented.

  4. I'm all in for Harris and Walz. She didn't keep a low profile! She had hundreds of public meetings and international events, raising her image with the public in the US Europe and Asia. She's well known and like.
The media, however, studiously ignored all her activities, much more responsibility than usual for the Veep. Now she's cashing in the chits with the people, raising literally $1M per hour.

She's been laying the groundwork for years, with Biden's astute assistance. Now media are begging her for interviews and having to eat quite a bit of crow. Tough!

  5. My jaw just dropped. How does anyone think this woman is qualified? Nancy Pelosi herself stated that they only pulled Joe Biden because he couldn't win the election. That means voters had no choice in the democrat party's presidential candidate.

Our economy has suffered under Biden and Harris won't be any better, just another puppet of her overlords. Even the Clintons didn't endorse her. Please read between the lies spoon fed us by the mainstream media.

Forgive and don't hate me, I am just so tired of swallowing my views. Be well, Andrew.

  7. Well analysised Andrew. if it is possible to fathom out the
weirdness of what goes on it the minds of US voters.
Pity they don't have compulsory voting like we have here
Might make the lazy ones think?????
Hmmmmmmm??? Daria M Sands !!!!! I presume from this
    that Trumpie is????
I think Andrew you have let the cat loose in the pigeon cage!!!

  8. Yes, I do hope so. Canada is very dependent on US policies and we have our own Project 25 here in the chief of our conservative party.
She's gaining ground rapidly on the Orange Jesus and I've never seen so many young ones so engaged as in this election.

  9. I hope both your brave hand and left foot are right, Andrew. The momentum seems to be with her at the moment (no pun intended.)

  10. I read a very interesting piece about the russian oligarchs who put Putin in power were trying to align power with their money to cement their hold on the country. A lot of those same oligarchs have had tragic falls from windows. Ruthless dictators are rarely concerned with helping others cement their hold on power. I believe we are seeing a bunch of rich Americans have the same ideas. Harris and Walz are like a breath of fresh air. Anyone who thinks the Trump/Vance ticket is a safe bet needs to read project2025. That is not the kind of world i want my grandchilren to grow up in.

  11. I'd like her to win but we have to wait and see and leave it up to the voters over in the USA.

  12. Politics is not an easy subject for me but I read your post with interest and also the comments. Just hoping that the right one gets in, we'll see.

  13. I thought that you could have been correct.. that enough people will vote for a young, progressive woman. But now that the Project 2025 has presented its programme for the winning Thump team, that will be the end of democracy for ever.

  14. I really hope you're right, but I was convinced the orange one wouldn't be voted in the first time and was so shocked when he was. I was equally convinced we would never leave the EU, so I don't trust my convictions!

  15. I think Harris is a LOT better then Trump, but then so is Donald Duck in my opinion. I do worry about that scary Project 2025, but it wouldn't be implemented if Kamala Harris wins, right?
My main concern is how on earth is a convicted felon allowed to run for president? Surely nobody wants a criminal running their country?

  16. I think it remains a close race, though Harris seems to have a slender lead. The polling is still a few months away.

  17. For all his faults, and there were many, Scott Morrison was correct when he said people want politics off the front page. People also want a peaceful life, and the whole Trump thing doesn't offer that.

  18. Kamala is a breath of fresh air, and starting to fight a good fight. After all she is a prosecutor and he is a felon.

  19. I certainly hope your prediction is right. As for the regulatory state, the ultimate goal of the Trumpers (as expressed by Steve Bannon) is to do away with it entirely. So don't assume corruption, fraudsters and dodgy companies will always be on the defense! (Or was that your attempt at humor? :) )
