After years of faultless performance, TPG has finally let us down with our Fibre to the Building via its private cable, failing us. The net was off and on and then just incredibly slow. That is like a two minute delay to answer blog comments this evening. IE, I would write a reply and the computer would hang for two minutes before publishing. Consequently there isn't a post for today and even getting this published has been so time consuming. Not happy Jan.

I've always liked this phrase and I wouldn't have a clue about its origins, the phrase being 'All over the place like a mad woma...
I feel for you. Our ISP has finally admitted there is a problem with email. Some messages are delayed for up to a day before being delivered and it is hit and miss whether I can send or receive email at the moment. The issue has been going on for over a week now and I am over it.
ReplyDeleteThat's bad EC. Email is such a basic thing now.
DeleteI ... hope .... it .... gets .... sorted ... soon ....
ReplyDeleteSorry JayCee. You are breaking up. Try again later.
DeleteBummer!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good word Pat.
DeleteNot happy Jane
ReplyDeleteNot at all Roentare. All seems ok now.
DeleteSame ISP - same problem yesterday- I put it down to gales force winds all day ( plus rain). What was it like in the city?
ReplyDeleteI should have said- similar problem. On/off . . Slow to a crawl
DeleteIt was horrible here yesterday Cathy. With the infrastructure being underground, it shouldn't be affected by bad weather, but thanks for telling me you had trouble too.
DeleteUgh... I hope it gets resolved.
ReplyDeleteIt seems fine this morning Darla.
DeleteUgh! We dealt with internet problems for months. The fact that we had no other service options made them slow to correct the problem.
ReplyDeleteYes, as I remember Debby. I hope it is all good now.
DeleteUgh, I hate a slow moving computers; it'd be faster to respond with smoke signals!
ReplyDeleteBob, it is very easy to get used to 100mb per second and when it drops to single digits, it is very cross making.
DeleteWe have been told by our provider that we will have no internet for two hours one afternoon soon. I guess forewarned is better than nothing.
ReplyDeleteMerlot, and in that two hours you will find something that you desperately need to do online.
DeleteForewarned! Lucky you.
DeleteHow much are we reliant of the internet, everything we want to do is just about on the internet, oh dear! Hope it's fixed real quick.
ReplyDeleteAll good today Margaret. Back to normal. We really are very reliant.
DeleteIt seems Telstra had a similar problem to what Optus had with upgrading their software. At least your outage didn't as long.
ReplyDeleteRiver, we aren't connected to Telecom, but that's interesting. I don't know how long the problem lasted but I am sure it was still happening at 10.30pm. All good this morning.
DeleteI have a TV with a large screen here and all European channels, but I have no YouTube. My TV is also here so I connect with a cable my computer to my TV until we find another solution. I want to have my TV and not that from the home.
DeleteGattina, I am sure you want your own tv so you can watch what you want to. You'll get there.
DeleteHate it when that happens.
ReplyDeleteFortunately rare for us TP.
DeleteOh the stuff we lean on and when it breaks we all fall down.

WWW
WWW, aside from not being able to blog post, there wasn't anything pressing to do. We still had our phones and tablets to connect to the 4G network.
DeleteWhat does TPG stand for? I tried to google it but dozens of suggestions were returned including The Pickle Guy. Sounds like he put you in a pickle!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely no idea YP, and I don't know what TPG stands for either.
DeleteUmpteenth time of trying to comment - we rely on technology too much, I fear.
ReplyDeleteJB, I don't think we are now have choice anymore.
DeleteTPG stands for Total Peripherals Group, owned or based in Malaysia I think.
