There isn't a gay lifestyle and nor is there a gay community.
Nothing more to say aside from aren't I in a grump today!
Well, that was last night. It was a crap day in so many ways.
I didn't know what to expect at this exhibition and it took a while for the theme to sink into my ageing brain. It was an exhibition by ...
Oh I'm sorry. I wondered about those strange ways to just describe reality, the way it is, why describe it as a lifestyle like its a choice. It's like saying I live the cat trappers lifestyle or the poor person's lifestyle or.....I don't know. Sorry your day was crap.
ReplyDeleteStrayer, your analogies are good. Thank you.
DeleteI hope today is a much less crappy version of your life.
ReplyDeleteTradies in, but all went well today. Much better than expected.
DeleteYou need a hug....
ReplyDeleteHow long are your arms JayCee? I did get a heartfelt hug today and a comforting stroking.
DeleteSorry your day was crap.
ReplyDeleteWe all have them don't we Debby. Moving on...
DeleteSorry you've had a bad day. Hope tomorrow is much, much better.

Thanks Sandra. Today was quite satisfying, even if out of our routine.

ReplyDeleteAndrew,
Is there any such thing as a gay lifestyle? We certainly don’t live it We consider we are just normal people living a traditional life . Your life sounds like that too. . Wasn’t a beautiful moon last Friday night? Look after yourself and R
Stalker, yep, our life is ever so boring and traditional. However, it wasn't always but we always being devoted to home. I took bad photos of the moon. They are still on my phone.
DeleteThe pop culture is just a facade. Life goes on and most of us just do a step at a time.
ReplyDeleteRoentare, sometimes I think life is just a facade.
DeleteAnd the tyranny of labels strikes again. Why do certain people insist on labelling and putting everyone in boxes. Hardly helps to create a harmonious inclusive society.
ReplyDeleteI do hope today is better for you.
Indeed Caro, although I am quick to stick labels on people too. I just hate media saying things about the 'gay community', as if we were one.
DeleteFor me it was weird day. I slept like crap.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on, and stay safe.
I hope your sleep last night was wonderful Dora. I hate not sleeping well.
DeleteA gay lifestyle implies that it's a choice when it's not, so I'm with you there. A gay community? No gay is forced to "join" one, but I take comfort in knowing that such political and social entities exist. Why go it alone in a sometimes hostile world if you don't have to?
ReplyDeleteKirk, groupings of gay people for a reason is fine with me, be it social or quite necessary to represent gay people. Just don't think of us all alike and because we are gay, we are connected and all get along just fine. We are diverse as the rest of society.
DeleteI am with Kirk. Having a community to provide support and friendship is important to everyone, gay, black, Chinese, Jewish, Islamic, elderly or horse-racing fanatics. Choosing to have friends for a weekend social life is a pleasure.
ReplyDeleteYes Hels, but what or where is my community? What is it called? We are very low on friends, but that is ok.
DeleteTimes like this I wish we were geographically a bit closer.
ReplyDeleteA simple sentence Marie, but absolutely loaded. Thank you. That means a lot.
DeleteOf course there is a gay lifestyle. Don't you remember the advertisement from decades ago: "boys and girls come out to play, happy and gay the laxette way"
ReplyDeleteIf that doesn't cheer you up then go straight back to bed.
Oh gosh River. I had forgotten that ad. Laxettes being used on a regular basis for children just sounds so wrong now. Better than cod liver oil, I suppose.
Deletelol
DeleteHoping today is a much better one Andrew.
ReplyDeleteI laughed at River's comment..lol
Thanks Margaret. Yes, it was a funny memory from River.
DeleteLifestyle? What's that? Hope today is better for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks JB. The next day has nearly gone now and it was better.
DeleteLifestyle what's that ? Mowing the lawn in a dark suit with a tie ? We had a neighbor who did that ! I am grumpy today ! Better avoid me !!
ReplyDeleteMy grumpiness must be infectious Gattina.
DeleteGrrrrrr I am not anonymes !!
ReplyDeleteSome days we just need to scream.
ReplyDeleteTP, do a Sally Bowles under a train bridge.
DeleteAnd don't even get me started on the "gay agenda"!
ReplyDeleteGood addition Steve.
DeleteI prefer the term community rather than gay community
ReplyDeleteIndeed John, but don't forget Mrs Thatcher telling you there was no such thing as community.
