Last week it was about the birds, ravens. This week it is about the bees, but not real ones.
I saw and photographed these many years ago but then lost their exact location. I made a little effort to find them again and I did. There are more than I realised last time. The bees adorn the Eureka Tower in Southbank. Rather good aren't they.
They are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteDare I say it? Bee-yoot-iful.
DeleteI laughed out loud at that.
DeleteLove you work EC.
DeleteThose are marvelous!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the location. Did a quick search and found information about the artist and the bee installation.

Thanks so much for the link DF. I did not imagine it. More bees have been added.
DeletePollinators are so vital. I like that artists are showcasing them. Thanks for sharing this lovely installation. Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased you liked the bees Darla.
DeleteAnd of course they are gold, to match the top of the tower. They are wonderful. One can almost hear them buzz.
ReplyDeleteCaro, I wonder if kids would find them interesting? Just a thought for future children visits here.
DeleteI think so. They are almost fairytale like.
DeleteTwo bees or not two bees. That is the question.
ReplyDeleteClever YP but there are many bees.
DeleteThose are the bee's knees!
ReplyDeleteAnother punster. Thank you Debby.
DeleteI like them.
ReplyDeleteThat pleases me River.
DeleteThey are near South Bank area adjacent to Rialto Tower I think. I never come around photographing it! Good lights at the same time
ReplyDeleteAt Southbank Roentare. Isn't Rialto Tower in Collins Street? I wish I had taken my camera for better photos.
DeleteThe do look good and we should look up more often, we might be surprise as to what we see.
ReplyDeleteMargaret, at times I look a wonder struck tourist staring up at buildings and there is much to be seen at times.
DeleteYou really were lucky with the light that day
ReplyDeleteNah Cathy. It was my photographic skills.
DeleteThat's the first time in my life that I see bees as figures ! I have seen cows etc when there was an exhibition of colored cows in Brussels, but bees ! I like them although I am not a fan of insects ! It's an original idea ! Btw I am going to the German speaking part of Switzerland. But they all speak French too as I have been told. Otherwise I translate !
ReplyDeleteAh well Gattina. French or German, it matters little to you. Maybe it is a chance to modernise your German?
DeleteMy what big bees you have.
ReplyDeleteTP, image getting pricked by one of their stingers.
DeleteI love them! Makes us think about the presence and necessity of insects in the life of the planet.
ReplyDeleteYes Steve, although after our recent floods, we have a mosquito plague, so they are low on the list.
DeleteI love them!
ReplyDeleteJust great public art, Strayer.
DeleteYou could have asked me lol, I knew where to find them.. When Jose worked in Melbourne for about 7 months in 2011, he lived in a fancy apartment provided by the company - Freshwater place - which is just 200mt from the Eureka tower, and I used to fly to Melbourne just about every weekend. It's a beautiful work of art.
ReplyDeleteHaha Sami. Ask a visitor about you own city. I remember being quite impressed by Freshwater Place when it was built, nicer than Eureka.
