Quiz

My couple of efforts at a quiz were ok, but not nearly as sophisticated as YP's.

This quiz is simple and without hints, eh.

Canada doesn't have counties like England, nor states like many counties have, including my country, Australia. Canada has provinces, I expect related back to its strong French connection, eh.

So please name Canada's provinces. There are ten. I knew six of them without checking, and then it was a matter of, how did I forget that, eh.

If you knew one of the less known ones, or all of them, speak up. Naturally Canadian and US citizens will know them all, eh.

If you don't know, Canada is in the process of ditching its formerly strong connection with the US, and building trade relationships all over the rest of the world. Canadians have stopped visiting the US in large numbers. This is all down to #47 the US Republican Party that's treated the country in the most appalling manner. Guard the Leaf, if you care to.

  1. Thanks for sharing this about Canada, Andrew! I am wondering if you got Quebec in the 6 provinces that you guessed. :) Quebec is the largest province in Canada, in area. I am so happy to have been born here...in Montreal, and have lived here all my life. Lots to see and do.

    1. Naturally I did Linda. That's where I knew you lived. I'm sure your command of French is excellent.

  2. I know Canada has Provinces instead of states, but cannot name a single one without first asking Google. So they are breaking connections with the US? Yay! Go Canada!

    1. River, I expect when you read the answers, you will know many of them.

  3. Andrew, I would have a hard enough time naming all 50 states, and I LIVE here. However. if the test were either multiple choice or true or false, I'm sure I would get all of Canada's provinces right (as well as all the U.S. states.)

    1. Kirk, that's quite true about multiple choice, and that's why it wasn't.

  4. Sorry I don't do quizzes but welcome the fact that Canada is striding out from under the USA hegemony.

    1. Thelma, what I know is quite filtered by passionate Canadians, and I am really not sure how widespread the feeling is, but having said that, I expect there is a lot of truth contained within.

    2. Actually that last territory you listed is Nunavut not Univik but otherwise, good job!!

  6. I had 8 of the provinces and 2 of the territories. I have visited three of the provinces, I need to spend more time in the maritimes - the two I missed are along the Atlantic coast.

    1. TP, the east coast ones are difficult, perhaps because they are small.

  7. I got eight provinces but as usual blanked on a couple of Eastern ones. No wait, I missed a Western one, so that's nine.

  8. I see you have caught the Canadian speech mannerism 😉😄🤣😂

  9. I know them all so won't participate. There was a really funny weekly episode on one of our Canadian TV stations on Canadians interviewing Americans and it was astonishing (and funny) how the Americans knew so little about Canada.
And yes Canadian trade has shifted massively from the US. I believe it was Oz who bid and won our Arctic defence system? We are seeing terrific new products on our shelves and now that the US has removed safety protections from their food we no longer buy meat, veggies, fruit from them. Hence the latest outbreak in the US of this explosive parasitic disease from infected food.

    1. WWW, I thought US food standards were already low enough. I don't know about them being further lowered. That is disturbing.

  10. Finally a quiz that I got a perfect score on, Andrew. ;-)

    1. Pat, I'd be so disappointed if you didn't. Knowing the states and provinces is quite basic stuff to know, although difficult in the US with so many.

  11. Not only can I name all the provinces, I've been to all of them. The only territory I've been to is NWT; Yellowknife is beautiful.

  12. I am pleased that you wrote about us finally learning to stand on our own two feet! I will NOT step foot in that country until things change. I try to buy anything but US products. At the moment, I wouldn't touch any of their produce, with that parasite they have!
Now they are complaining about the smoke caused by climate changes, as if it is our fault!

    1. Jackie, regarding climate change, you know what #47 tore up as soon as he entered office, and now electric cars. I can see where climate change is coming from.
