As usual, River and others, often along with me, participate in Sunday Selections.
I've never thought much of Crocs, thank you John Gray of Wales. But two pair arrived at The Highrise, a pink and a blue pair. I tried them on, and nah, not for me. They are probably not real Crocs either.
I try, and this is encouraging.
Jass can go into very sound sleeps, and like with dogs, you can see signs of the brain still working, perhaps a version of dreaming. I don't mind Jass sleeping next to me on the bed, but I really, really need my beauty sleep and she should walk to the end of the bed to get down, not walk over the top of me when I'm asleep.
The same day, about twelve hours later, best enlarged.
Occasionally Ray would buy ham steaks and a tin of pineapple rings and he would normally serve them with mashed potatoes, carrots, peas and broccoli. I found these at the Austro/Germo supermarket and Phyllis did an ok job, with bought potato salad, and he made a nice mustard sauce.

The sky does look beautiful. And I'm glad that Kosov and Phyllis make such a good team. :) As for cats, our Terra can become a little menace about the house if she's bored. lol Be well!
ReplyDeleteI suppose it is boredom with Jass. A release of energy.
DeleteHam steak and pineapple. When did that stop being a thing? I am now on a mission to find some.
ReplyDeleteThat kitchen mess looks interesting. What was he creating?
I'm with you on crocs. I did buy a pair that were half price for gardening and have worn them once.
I've no idea what he was creating, but I am sure it was nice.
DeleteResist the urge to turn the shower on that cat. A wet cat is a pissed cat. She also knows where you sleep.
ReplyDeleteHam and pineapple. When did that stop being a thing??!
The 1970s?
DeleteBeautiful dramatic clouds! I love ham and pineapple, haven't done that in yonks, usually with a fried egg in place of the mash. Phyllis needs to learn "clean as you go". From the picture your TV appears "unbalanced" as if the cabinet below is not quite wide enough. Do NOT turn on that shower.
ReplyDeleteGo for broke with mash and egg.
Delete"None of our former cats had her extreme hunting instincts."
ReplyDeleteShe may have been an outdoor, or indoor-outdoor, cat at one point.
Or perhaps we never watched what our cats got up to outdoors.
DeleteAndrew, that was my thought. Still, some cats are more eager and adept hunters than others.
DeleteBeautiful sky, it pays to look up.
ReplyDeleteCrocs, oh gosh, never had a pair, not my thing but have had crocs as in name, their thongs are good and still often wear them in our summer.
I'm sure the cat would run a muck if you turned the water on in the shower...lol.
Croc thongs. Noted.
DeleteCroc thongs? Picture please.
DeleteThe two storey Victorian home with ivy and wisteria is my dream come true.
ReplyDeleteYeah, nah. Dark and dingy unless opened up at the back to modern standards.
DeleteGreat sky photos. One sweet little kitty.
ReplyDeleteShe ain't sweet to me, yet.
DeleteSleeping on your bed indicates she has accepted you.
DeleteThe crocs look so cool lol. Messy cooking makes it home like
ReplyDeleteGreat food comes from the very messy kitchen.
DeleteMum used to make ham steaks and pineapple when I was a kid but when I tried it as an adult the ham steaks felt like a block of salt.
ReplyDeleteI suspect you didn't see what your previous kitty cats did all the time.
Great skies!
Quite so. I don't know what the cats got up to outside.
DeleteNo Crocs!! EVER!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the sky photos; so pretty.
Neither stylish or suitable.
DeleteI'd tear off the ivy and wisteria, the terrorists of the plant world. That house, aside from damage to the exterior, is probably crawling with bugs, too. Also dark! I guess that's a no from me!
ReplyDeleteBoud, if they are controlled, they are ok. We generally don't have bugs in houses, just maybe a spider or two.
DeleteThey say that cats can get used to baths but I suspect you need to start them young. For some reason (maybe bad fleas?) I once washed our cat. He was so terrified and distressed he shat himself then and there. I didn't try it again.
ReplyDeleteMC, I don't know if you know of the late vet Dr Hugh Wirth but one year at Midsumma Carnival he demonstrated how to bathe a cat, using a real cat. Yes, start young, or not at all.
DeleteI didn't know Dr Wirth, but I googled him. I see he said he was married to his job.
DeleteA confirmed bachelor, as is said. Of course, he did appear at a gay carnival to wash a cat, and seemed rather fond of the host, the late Dulcie Du Jour.
DeleteI don't think we have wisteria in Canada!
ReplyDeleteI bet you do Jenn.
DeleteOur cat was a great hunter who would bring great treasures home. Never a fun thing, Andrew.
ReplyDeleteYes, Pat. I remember our cats in years past doing that.
DeleteHam and pineapple. Old dinners redux. But pineapple on pizza - X-Nay that foulness.
ReplyDeleteGreat selection. Jass is an interesting cat-being.

I agree about pizza and pineapple, but kids do seem to like it.
DeleteNot a fan of crocs 😀. One of my cats used to love sleeping curled around the top of my head in Winter. I suppose it kept both of us warm. I like wisteria, but they are messy plants as you say.
ReplyDeleteYour cat keeping your head warm in winter, Sami. We had a mature wisteria and the biggest problem with them is that the flowers come on second year wood, so pruning them is difficult.
DeleteI've also never worn Crocs. I'm not necessarily against them, but I haven't had the urge to acquire them either! You don't need to bathe Jass (just in case that's what you were thinking/planning when you mentioned "turning on the taps") -- I had indoor cats for 20 years and I never gave a single one of them a bath. They keep themselves clean.
ReplyDeleteSteve, oh no. No bathing of cats. I think when they are really old, there self cleaning is not what it was when they were young.
DeleteI have never worn Crocs. Lovely photos. Good food, good friends, beautiful cat and encouragement! Wonderful joys of life.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. Crocs don't really look dignified.
DeleteCrocs are hard and unbending and uncomfortable. I have never had a pair, just some fake ones that were as described.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts too, Strayer. I don't know if you had the cheap plastic sandals when you were young, that we wore in summer, with or without socks.
DeleteLove my crocs, but they look like sandals. Ham steaks are perfect for a quick meal.
