He does look like a well read older gentleman! I really like this, Andrew!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool mural! And I like your assessment; it seems spot on. Be well!
ReplyDeleteGreat find Andrew. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals.
ReplyDeleteI agree, he does look like that. It's a very nice mural.
ReplyDeleteLike my grandfather, who spoke Russian, Yiddish, Ukrainian, Hebrew, English and French.
ReplyDeleteExcept your man is plumper :)
"Sue Way Art" Sounds like a best-seller.
ReplyDeleteI just looked at it again. It may say "Subway Art". A book of graffiti.
Delete"Looking Jewish" can be a bit of a minefield, but Hels doesn't mind so you are probably in the clear.
ReplyDeleteAs for "well read," I suspect the book in question (apparently a classic in its field) is mostly pictures.
I'll take from the opposite in that I'm not self censoring with my opinion of his appearance. He may or may not be Jewish, but to me, he looks Jewish, and I don't see that as being offensive.
DeleteAnother interesting mural, Andrew. Well found.
ReplyDeleteNice mural and he looks as if he's enjoying the book.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a charming mural.
ReplyDeleteInteresting you assume he´s Jewish. We have so many "Stolpersteine" here in Braunschweig, referring to where Jewish people lived before gotten "transported" by the Na#is, you could cry. I am half German and my paternal side hid Jewish people in WWII....
ReplyDeleteThere's a big story there Iris, I'm sure.
DeleteIt has some features
ReplyDeleteHe looks happy, flipping through that book.
ReplyDeleteExploring the world, one page at a time.
ReplyDeleteLike Kirk I thought the book title was "Sue Way Art," but then I looked at the binding!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...is it supposed to be someone specific?
ReplyDeletePossibly Steve, but I don't know who.
DeleteI thought that it said Sue Way Art too. Subway makes sense. I like the technique they used to paint it, Andrew.
ReplyDeleteHmm Pat. Yes, just one colour in different shades.
DeleteI like it!
