Just a day in the life of...

Monday night Phyllis came from one of his jobs with a bottle of Shiraz, given to him by a friend who was returning to Sri Lanka. He checked the value of the bottle online and it was $130. We checked the big green liquor outlet and it was $60. Phyllis poured me a glass in a wine glass and it was very nice, and I'd pay about $15 for the wine.

I normally drink wine from a tumbler because of my unsteady hands, and when I took the proper wine glass out onto the balcony, sure enough, I knocked it over. I expected lights to turn on all over the building at the sound of the wine glass smashing, but they didn't. 'Phyllis, Kosov, help me', and they cleaned up the glass and mopped the balcony.

Of course last night it was dark, so next morning I finished cleaning up.

Tuesday morning , Kosov appeared dressed for work. Have a lovely day K, and take care. Onnndrewww, I am coming home. He slept form 9am to 4.30pm.

I got rid of many medication blister packs at the chemist, an embarrassing amount, but hey, they keep me alive. They had built up. I picked up a couple of prescriptions I ordered on the app. I know now to order them the evening before to be sure they are ready.

I ate a sandwich from home in Prahran Square along with bought coffee, and I devoured a bought Portuguese tart at my table.

I shopped for a couple of litres of milk, some tomatoes and salad leaves. I needed some potato salad and coleslaw, but the tram was four minutes away, so I stopped searching.

Once home, my new shirt had arrived in the post. I made a mistake when ordering the shirt, rather click and collect, it was delivered. I made another mistake as the shirt doesn't have a pocket. No wonder it was a bargain, but it looks ok. Sadly my image doesn't match that of the male model who was wearing it in the online catalogue.

I sorted out the new car things with the company who deals with my old age pension. Although I lost around $9,000 dollars car valuation, from my pocket, as soon as I drove it from the car sales place, my pension will reduce by $2. Oh, the pension mysteries.

Phyllis took the car to a workplace today, and it fills me with dread if he calls me, as he did around noon. I think he may have smashed up my new car, but instead he asked if I was going out, could I buy half a kilo of diced beef. Ok, and the nearby smaller Metro supermarket had the coleslaw and potato salad I needed. I added a tiny packet of bacon flavoured potato crisps...$2 only.

I physically abused Jass today, giving her a whack as she clawed the back of my desk chair. She stopped but seemed unoffended.

Dinner by Phyllis tonight was a big fail.

  3. Maybe you could model the new shirt for your loyal readers.
I find a squirt with a water bottle more effective than a physical attack but my cats have shredded my lounge suite so I am not really sure if anything works. Other than getting rid of the cats and that ain't happening.
Is it common for Phyllis to fail at meal prep?

  4. You checked the price of the wine? Why would you check how much a gift cost? My mother used to do that and if something was cheap she would make sure the next Christmas gift to them was also cheap. So petty.
Bacon flavoured crisps? I'll have to look out for those. Too bad about your pension reduction.

  7. I would hold my breath too, with a phone call from the perpetrator of the last crash. My former neighbor has taken in two former homeless folk and lets them drive her car, even though I don't think either have an active license to drive. I warned her there could be serious consequences but she brushes that off.

  8. The dreaded phone call, well I certainly hope you never get one, Andrew.
Understand regarding losing the $2.00. Naughty pussy and shame about the spilling of the wine. I always have a wine glass when having wine but
I don't have much only a 1/4 glass for dinner most night - that's all.
