Emigrate to Australia where it's always warm and sunny! Miles miles of beautiful sandy beaches to take in the sun with lots of space to be alone. Err...
It is very interesting when a rain front comes in across the bay. I was dry, but not for long. The south west is where our prevailing weather and wind originates.
Another interesting photo with the heavier cloud sitting atop the rainbow. I did not notice this until I began making this post. It is quite a phenomenon.
While looking east, I think this rain missed me. I can't remember rain ever arriving from that direction, and it is rare for rain to blow in from that direction. Seagulls seem alarmed.
For the third time we had to cancel a motorcar trip to Powelltown in the hills because of the weather. We would have been driving into this.
Oh wow! I love watching weather approaching (especially when I am warm and dry inside) and your horizon really makes it - I can't find the right word, but colour me impressed. Sorry you missed your drive, but I think that scenery is worth it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these stunning images. I hope your trip still happens. :D
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a teenager I thought of moving to Australia
ReplyDeleteThose are some amazing skies. Good captures.
ReplyDeleteBefore I started reading your blog, all I knew of Australia's weather was from Qantas Airlines commercials, in which it was always sunny. If you can't believe a commercial, what can you believe?
ReplyDeleteIt's that time of year when the weather can change in an instant and one must always be ready for rain and thankful when it doesn't happen while you are out and about.
ReplyDeleteMy three weeks in Australia was fabulous. Looking forward to another trip soon. Weather can indeed be a disruptor of tours.
ReplyDeleteLove the rainbow, it has strong colour which is good to see.
ReplyDeleteYou have had some nasty weather from what I have heard and read, we have been ok with little rain.
Beautiful photos and narrative of your weather Andrew! And believe me with everything going on in the US I have considered emigrating!
ReplyDeleteWeather is not as fickle as 20 years ago
ReplyDeleteRoentare, I am inclined to agree with you, but is it because we are ageing?
DeleteA great view of the rainbows.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos.
ReplyDeleteI never think of you having anything other than heat, often far too much.
ReplyDeleteThe weather becomes like the orange president, it changes it's mood and nothing is normal anymore, we have warm and sunny weather .... beginning April ! When we moved to Waterloo on April 2 1975 it snowed !
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow with the dark skies----EC would have loved that one!
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow seems to be pushing the rain away.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Gorgeous rainbow 🌈
ReplyDeleteYou do get quite dramatic views from your lofty perch in the sky!
