Sunday Selections

I'm participating with River and others in Sunday Selections, with a noise level around me of 65 db. It's quieter outside with passing traffic and trams. I will explain the disaster later today or tomorrow, but obviously I am physically ok, just perhaps not so well mentally.

Nevertheless, this Sunday, the skies have it.

Obviously looking east, (the sun rises in the east everywhere?) this was a rather nice sunrise.

Then a week or so later the sun has moved further north, right to left, and I caught it on the day when it rises fully between these two high rise buildings in South Yarra. As Jackie once said, when she moved to a high rise in Toronto, she was quite amazed at how the sun moved in the skies.

Looking towards Albert Park Lake and Port Phillip, there seems to be smoke rising in this sunset photo. I can't even remember taking this photo. I suppose it could just be cloud.

I love the way the clouds are illuminated in this photo.

These two were taken a minute apart and I couldn't decide which one to use, so I've posted both.

If you like pretty guys (or girls) you may like Kpop. Via Phyllis I've heard a couple of songs I like.

  1. Magnificent clouds. I know nothing about Kpops. It sounds like an unhealthy breakfast cereal, tbh.

  2. Lovely sky pics - I will miss my sky pics but no doubt still be able to find something to look at in the new place. And who knows, maybe I will photograph and blog my day today.

  3. Picture Number 5 sings to me of Australian skies - less often seen in other parts of our world. Now I am anxious about the "disaster" you mentioned.

  4. I got into hard rock Japanese music years ago and it annoyed anyone else listening. lol Malice Mizer is probably the closest one to Jpop, who disbanded after their drummer died in 1997. ~sigh~ Anyway, have you heard this story?

  5. I have seen the K-Pop movie and didn't like it much.
Those skies are stunning! The sun's trajectory during winter is lower than in summer, not so high at midday, though it still always travels east to west.

  8. Yes the sun does rise in the east everywhere :) Until a second sun arrives, or the one sun changes direction! Mind you, I wonder if Eskimos living at the Pole knew about eastern sun rises.

    1. Hels, North Pole, six months of darkness, six months of light, but where would the sun rise" I will guess in the east but barely ever arise much above the horizon.

  9. Loving your sky photos, clouds just look so good with the sun trying to peek through.

  10. I expect your view is ever changing, as happens anywhere we can see more than a snippet of sky. Gorgeous shots.

    1. Kylie, get hip! Jpop (Japan) was a thing, but Kpop has blown South Korean pop music to the globe.

  11. Marvelous photos Andrew! I'm glad you're okay and wondering what the heck happened. Yes, crazy Kona storms from the south brought flooding and heavy tropical rains! No loss of life. So glad I'm high up in a sold building, no longer in a coffee shack or boat (two places we have lived :)

Kindness failure

The post I wrote for today bored me, and it would bore you too. Instead, this Friday evening.  One of our residents bumped into our carpark ...
