Monday Mural

Along with Sami and others, here is my contribution today.

It is a mural but on a hoarding, so it will disappear at some point. A repeat of nice panels works well enough, and I think the artwork is good.

On the very left is a blue fairy wren, a delightful bird that hops and flits around, galah a raucous bird of the parrot family, then a wattle bird, your early morning wake up call, and in breeding season if near their nests, they will swoop down at you, making a clacking noise, but not make contact with you. Yes, I have been swooped by one. Lastly is a rainbow lorikeet, noisy and a very colourful parrots

  1. I have often wondered what a galah looked like, after being called one in the past.

    1. A galah is a slang word but is used to mean a pink and grey cockatoo. If you lived in Australia you would have seen them

    2. Often prefaced by, 'a bit of a ...'. I've had them land on my balcony railing but not for a few years.

  2. Is there no way those beautiful panels can be saved? This hoarding situation is on private property? You left me very curious. Be well!

    1. I doubt it Darla. Murals are temporary art.

  3. I appreciate your interest in the kratom debate and for sending a link. Watching the video, it restated what Scars and all other proponents claim. The gas station stuff is dangerous garbage. Its synthetic compound is extremely powerful and, yes, addictive.

The more expensive natural leaf powder is very safe; overindulging causes nausea and vomiting, a 100% overdose deterrent. It's a shame folks get taken in by these evil money scams. ~sigh~ Best wishes, my dear.

  4. Very pretty and certainly brightens up a dull area.

  5. That mural brightens up that area and good to see some birds there too, Andrew.

  8. Great colors. Hoarding is a very regional word. Here is would mean to collect vast amounts of often useless things.

  9. Who doesn't like birds? And that pink background certainly draws your attention and eye to the mural!

  10. A very long mural. Almost episodic.

  11. I can't help but think how Sue (Elephant's Child) would have enjoyed this mural, with several of the birds she loved. Nice one, Andrew.

    1. I think of Sue often, Jenny. I certainly miss her online, and as such a sensible and practical person in real life.

Relief and rant

Ray's relatives left yesterday morning. As lovely as the couple are, it is a bit of a relief, but also very sad as it is unlikely I will...
