I've dried out

The dampness camera and the moisture probe showed my apartment had dried out, so the nine fans and two dehumidifiers were removed and I have so much space, and I won't he kicking furniture that's sitting in the wrong place. I could get away without repainting anything but given the building's insurance will pay, I will get it done, after a bit of luxury of having no tradespeople visiting.

Someone mentioned my new lounge chairs, and the damage was repaired with a very satisfactory job.

They are nothing special, just black leather but I am excited by what they can do, sadly though not pouring a drink and serving it to me.

The controls, with the centre button to put all back to normal, and a USB A and USB C charging ports. Buttons are each side.

This a a phone charging pad. I can't work out the purpose of the recess at its edge. Note the little button on the lower edge.

Which electrically opens and retracts the drinks holder.

Inside this storage area are another USB A and USB C socket.

The reading lamps, with the flap of leather concealing where the screws failed.

Not quite completely flat, but very comfortable. I haven't fallen asleep on it yet at night time and woken up at 2.30am, but give it time.

  2. Is the recess to help you pick up your phone? It does look very comfy.

  4. The black leather lounge chairs look perfect. Reading lamps, charging ports, extending legs.. I have all of that on mine, except the drink holders which, now I see them, seem essential.

  5. Nice! When my husband's tossing and turning finally breaks our loveseat we may have to upgrade. :) Be well!

  7. It must be such a relief to get back to normal after the flooding incident. Those hi-tech comfy chairs look as though they belong in the palatial home of a Saudi prince. All you have to do is clap your hands and a belly dancer will emerge from the spare room, gyrating like a cobra.

    1. A male dancer of course, and yes, there are male belly dancers.

  8. That's very fancy seating you have there Andrew. I like it a lot, though I am not jealous and won't be buying similar. What I have is good enough for me.

  10. Very noice indeed Andrew!
Do the boys take it in turn to sit next to you…….”that’s not fair you sat there yesterday”
Is there a pop out tray for the nibbles to go with your drink - cake & biscuits with your coffee or do you still pull up a little side table?

    1. No Cathy, and better they don't as they will only annoy me. The table idea is good, like at the exit row of a plane where it folds up out of the armrest, electrically, of course.

  14. Looks great, Andrew. They have so many things at our finger tips these days. I guess it won't be long before you fall asleep on it.

  16. Oh my gosh. I love, love, love your lounge chairs! We've got a lamp with the chargers built in, but it's a cheapie. And somewhere along the line I missed (or forgot....) the flooding incident.Glad you've dried out. Enjoy those chairs.

  18. Oh my...very high tech. Here. I imagine that after a few brownouts and a couple power outages, one chair would stick in the recline position, the other would stick in the upright position and there I would be, wishing for my rocking chair.

  19. Hi Andrew, how wonderful. I have an electric recliner that looks just like yours. Mine is brown leather.

In the morning I looked for a place to sit and have brunch. The former Post Office was impressive.  I visited the tourist information centre...
