Kitty Flanagan is a great actor and she is very good at stand up comedy too. In these clips she talks about tech and how non digital natives have adapted to the world of phones and tablets. And let's face it, if it isn't us, we will have all seen it happen.
Could I learn to text with my thumbs? I doubt it, and I text as I write here. It takes me longer to insert BRB and an emoji than it does for me to type it in full.
OMG, I am not suspicious but it is Friday the 13th today. TTFN.
I don't mind a bit of Kitty - she is probably very much aimed at my demographic!
ReplyDeleteVery funny 🤣My brother loves his Ipad, a phone screen is too small for hime to see clearly, though that might change once he has his cataract surgery. I WISH I could learn to text with my thumbs, but both of them have arthritis, so I'll stick with the pointer finger tapping away while my other hand holds the phone steady.
ReplyDeleteConstantly using our thumbs alone causes tendon issues, I believe. I suffered a similar problem in the 1990's. My doctor suggested I stop right thumbing zero on the number keypad. Constantly twisting my wrist caused the problem, as she suspected, and I've retained this and similar good habits. Be well!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing her humor, by the way!
ReplyDeleteKitty Flanagan is indeed funny. I had never heard of her before. I guess you are a conduit for Australian culture Andrew!
ReplyDeleteLove Kitty, we went to one of her shows some years ago and couldn't stop laughing, her sense of humour is very similar to mine. I can't tet with my thumbs, use my fingers.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed these video clips so much, Andrew. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWe have not done to bad, for having started out on manual typewriters
ReplyDeleteI hadn 't heard of Kitty Flanagan before. Quite funny ... I find most standup comedians not funny at all ... except a couple of them... may be I will blog about them here some day.
ReplyDeleteI don't use my thumbs to text, but I am definitely slower than many younger people who use the thumb method.
