Satisfying Saturday

The cows seem very satisfied with their new scratching facility.  They do like a good rub and scratch.

As I uploaded the video, a message arrived that it would not be viewable in some countries because of the accompanying music, Hall and Oats I believe. I investigated further, and I could silence the music or change it to some YouTube approved music, so that's what I did. It kinda works.

  1. Well, who wouldn't enjoy a good rub and scratch!

  2. Nothing like a good scratch, especially if you don't have fingers. Charlie actually moans when I scratch right around his ears.

  3. Cows do love a good scratch! Often they are annoyed by buffalo fly, so my Dad (and many other graziers) would set up a "back rub" - a heavy rope from one tree to another at the right height - and would sometimes put a little something to discourage buffalo flies - win win.

  4. That is adorable. ~grin~ I often regret we don't see ourselves ever becoming vegetarian. ~sigh~ Be well!

  5. Interesting how they caught on and were pushing in to get a turn. I've known cows wear out wood fences by leaning on them and scratching. Some farmers put these ingenious contraptions out, cows get it!

  6. Why don't all cows have such a facility? They are clearly keen to scratch away itches, parasites and gunge. Without fingers that is very difficult to do.

  7. This is probably like a form of massage they love

  8. If one has an itch, one should scratch it.

  9. I think the farmer needs a larger scratchpad, or several. Too bad about the music.
