I have posted this clip before but a long time ago, and the clip was made even a much longer time ago. As brilliant as the concept is, I think I can safely say, it didn't catch on.
On a serious note, it was sad to hear of the death of Dr (Dame) Jane Goodall. If you don't know who she was, do yourself a favour and look her up. You will be uplifted.
Fascinating little Bug with a trailer. I'd like to see the inside of the trailer. Friday Frippery is a great title!
ReplyDeleteDr Goodall, one of the greats. I'm not sure they make them like her anymore.
I can forsee many eek moments with that ensemble.
ReplyDeleteJane Goodall had a fascinating career. I am ashamed to admit that I thought she was already long gone.
She was totally committed, and was very brave. I wouldn't go into a jungle alone.
ReplyDeleteShe was working till the last day of her life. A life well lived.
ReplyDeleteI hate to think of crosswinds with that trailer. I can see the bug being yanked over onto its roof. Not surprised it didn't catch on.
Boud, I'd forgotten that VWs could be knocked over by wind. Drivers had to open windows to stop it happening.
DeleteHer news brings me sorrow here
ReplyDeleteFascinating caravan. Would like to see how compact it is. Would not like to be driving it. Very sad to hear of Goodall's death. It is gratifying to know she received all the accolades in her lifetime and was eventually recognised as the world's foremost authority on chimpanzees.
ReplyDeleteAmazing really the van.
ReplyDeleteYes, sad news re Jane and remarkable women.
I was sorry to hear about Dr Jane Goodall, she did a lot of good works with her chimps, teaching and playing with them as well as learning from them.
ReplyDeleteThe V-dub trailer seems a great idea, maybe not for a family, but for a single person travelling around the country who doesn't like hotels.
It is sad news that she died but Jane Goodall had reached a good age. Apparently she had a spate with Elon Musk. She had said that there should be less humans in the world. He on the other hand wants more so he can populate the new planet he is thinking of. The fight for animal kind must go on.
ReplyDeleteThelma, I didn't know about she and Muskrat. Interesting.
DeleteJane Goodall was an incredible woman and furthered our understanding of primates.
ReplyDeleteEarlier this week, I was re-reading "A Pre-History of The Far Side" a cartoon drawn by Gary Larson. 40 years ago he mentioned Jane Goodall in a cartoon, there was a cry of protest from her office, and then she read the cartoon and found it very amusing. She reached out, and they published a special edition of the cartoon. She was amazing and had a deep sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteJane Goodall was a wonder. She did so much good for the world.
ReplyDeleteBut the pull on that one spot middle of the car, seems like quite a lot. There's no weight distribution on the wheels of the car, from the trailer, that's stilly. Only the pull needed. Having the car pulling from under part of the trailer seems like it would be a power advantage. It's cute the way it provides such manueverability.
