I enlarged this photo to study it. It clearly became apparent to me that I could understand nothing. That is an old and now scrapped Melbourne train exiting a tunnel, with the then The Met symbol above it. It appears the train has reached its terminus, with a buffer on the rail in front of the train. There is a Little Chief with Big Horn type American native person.

It meant something to someone, presumably . . .
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the figure on the right has ripped out his heart and is handing it over???
ReplyDeleteSubservience?
ReplyDeleteI wonder who was running the transport system at that time?
ReplyDeleteI think the artist knows, and he or she wants to see what others say about it.
ReplyDeleteNot sure how native Americans would play a role in Melbourne train station
ReplyDeleteI don't understand it but the artist is very talented.
ReplyDeleteI like that ..... I could understand nothing :-)
ReplyDeleteA confusion of images to tease the mind.
ReplyDeleteSomeone's art.
ReplyDeleteThe face of the figure on the left, is very Inca, pre-columbian. The figure on the left may be holding out his heart. I am sure there is a message, but I don't know what it is.
ReplyDeleteI noticed the train only when I clicked on the photo and enlarged it!
ReplyDeleteWas it the Aztecs Incas or Mayans who practised so much human sacrifice, skillfully removing the heart of the victim to show to the sun, before it stopped beating, each morning? Someone is offering their own heart, before it can be cut out. Why the train though, I don't know.
ReplyDeleteThe train will take you to the heart of Melbourne?
ReplyDeleteMost murals have mystery messages, Andrew.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...it's a mystery.
ReplyDeleteThat is both beautiful and thought provoking. Thank you for sharing.
