Monday Mural

Kosov asked if he could borrow my shopping trolley. While I would pay $2 or more for a kilo of onions, perhaps, they can buy ten kilos of onions for $10. He needs the trolley to bring them home by train or bus and tram. Tomorrow I have to give him a shopping trolley lesson, lol. Actually, that is not as silly as it sounds. The clip that keeps it in the folding position is vulnerable to falling off. The best way to pull the loaded trolley is at an angle whereby it kind of balances itself. Heavy items need to be placed near the big wheels.

On to the mural, or murals in this case. I think both photos were taken in Fitzroy.

  2. Those are amazing murals. And thanks for making me giggle over the trolley lesson. I grew up in a car culture and still have limited access to mass transit. It's not a problem, though, as driving makes me happy as long as weather and traffic aren't too bad. My husband's eldest brother, sister-in-law, and nephews are the exact opposite. I find their preferences both foreign and fascinating but in no way disagreeable. :D I'm not certain they ever lived in suburbia. Be well!

  3. I think I need a sholley. My shopping trips via Shanks' pony make my shoulders ache.
Those murals are very bright and colourful. I have enlarged and zoomed in on the second one but still can't make it out. Must be my eyesight but it seems a little blurry.

  5. I've no idea what either of these eman, but I do admire the talent and perseverance to pain such large scale pieces.

  6. Onions are natural sweeteners anyone could get avoiding the refined sugars. The murals are unique and funky.

    1. Agree. It seems a no-brainer to buy them in such larger quantities. One downside, as with all bulk purchasing, is that they take up space. I have also noticed that the onions offered for sale in this way are sometimes not the best/freshest, which can lead to some wastage and a bit more faff in prep.

  14. I never used that clip on mine, SweetBear uses it all of the time.

  15. Shopping trolleys are not common here. I've never used one so would need lessons, too. We do have enormous carts in the grocery stores and some other big box stores. They can be hard to navigate, especially if they get a wonky wheel.

  16. Great murals! I don't have a shopping trolley so I have no words of wisdom on that count.

  17. If I was handing my shopping trolley over I would have to warn them about a persnickety back wheel that misbehaves in the most awkward of circumstances.

Trams are remarkably safe

Trams are very safe, and even if you are motorist and hit by one, the tram driver will have probably already applied emergency brakes. It is...
