Monday Mural

Along with Sami and others, here is my contribution to Monday Mural, this week being a couple of murals I discovered in Ocean Grove on The Bellarine as I stayed at Sister's, Bone Doctor's and Jo's home about 15 minutes away.

I expect both of these are commissioned works, or at least approved by property owners.

I was driving past when I saw this house. The car stopped very quickly as the hill was so steep. You may have to embiggen the photo a little to appreciate the work.

A beautified public toilet in a supermarket car park. It's a nicely expressed sentiment, as we take over the land from our native flora and fauna, as the ponzi scheme of expanding our population continues. Hey, the system is working, for now, but at what cost.

    1. JB, it took a couple of days before I settled in, and the cats began behaving reasonably., but yes, I did. I am pretty well ok on my own.

    2. Examples of cats behaving unreasonably? (I'm intrigued; tbh more intrigued than by murals; I know they're your regular Monday thing and having a regular thing is the secret of posting regularly, but after 5 days away I was hoping you might have a store of less run-of-the-mill content; maybe even make an exception to the murals rule for a Monday which is a public holiday)

    3. I'll write a couple of posts about my time away, but this evening I am angry. See tomorrow's post. There isn't a great deal to say about my time away, as I didn't do anything much.

  6. And it's not really working. It only appears to be working.
    Nice murals!

    1. Boud, I expect they would be tagged here at home, but Ocean Grove is not a huge place.

    1. Kirk, I think I've seen it before but I wasn't on my own and I didn't like to test Ray's patience.

  12. "All we need is a little space" and a tree I'm thinking, for nesting in.
I love the painted fence with the sunflowers, the bee and butterfly, and the lady in the blue "ocean wave" dress is pretty cool.

    1. Yes River, somewhere to make a home and a nice environment to live, not so different to us.

  13. Good on them for creating a beautified public toilet. Public toilets should never be ugly or dirty.

    1. Hels, they are certainly much nicer than when I was younger, which is a very good thing.

  14. We all need some space. Calling it a ponzi scheme, that's funny. But true.

    1. Strayer, that is truly what it is and maybe to lesser extent, applies to your country, or did. Who knows now.

  15. Very different type of a fence but the art work does look amazing, and the bird in flight, we do need our space.
    Take care.

  19. Murals on houses are all very well and good when they are fresh but when there is deterioration - staining, fading and flaking - the decoration will be much less satisfying and there may be regrets.
