Back in the USA, back in the bad old days.
Sorry about the photos. They could have been a lot better.
There was a warning that if you were near these cars, you could be included in a film. I saw the camera swing directly in my direction and some excitement on the set. Ah, no, that is the back of the camera, not the front. Their loss.
Their loss indeed.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you agree EC.
DeleteLeft in confusion.
ReplyDeleteThat's ok YP. Make yourself a nice cuppa and take a rest.
DeleteOK. I admit I don't understand...
ReplyDeleteJayCee, I'm not sure I do either, I just winged it. See my reply below.. LOL
DeleteIt was a film set JayCee, on a public street with the public passing by.
DeleteWell shoot. I wanted to say, I knew you when.
ReplyDeleteSandra sandracox.blogspot.com
Sandra, there is still time. I'll send you an Academy Award invitation and a limo to get there.
DeleteYou oughta be in pictures!
ReplyDeleteAnon, I really don't think I should. In fact I should not even be in radio.
DeleteThe first shot looks like a poster for police drama on TV
ReplyDeleteRoentare, they are real cars, outside The Age building in Collins Street (West?)
DeleteI might have waited around all day just for a few fleeting moments of screen time!
ReplyDeleteAre you sure Bob? You are confident about your looks, style and clothing?
DeleteI might have too. I could easily be one of those grubby bag ladies pushing a trolley of possessions.
DeleteI'm with Bob, a few moments on screen would have been something fun to watch for in the movie.
ReplyDeleteDeb, see my reply to Bob.
DeleteYou should have looked into being an extra.
ReplyDeleteKirk, yes an old man waiting for a bus, just what they need.
DeleteI NEARLY got into a film. "On the Beach" took place in Melbourne, filmed in early 1959 in Frankston. The crowds watching from a distance were huge, but the cameras avoided us.
ReplyDeleteHels, did you have a bit of a thing for Gregory Peck?
DeleteThe back of the camera - oh dear me, Andrew.
ReplyDeleteProbably for the best, Margaret.
DeleteSo very nearly.......😀
ReplyDeleteA very unflattering rear view pic of me walking down our road is on street view, I remember the car driving slowly by 😉
Alison in Wales x
Alison, I too was caught by the Street View camera. I posted about it at the time but I can't find it now. It was a rear view and not so bad, but it showed me having a lanyard around my neck. I don't think I've ever worn a lanyard around my neck. It was very puzzling. I was checking the view of an Indian restaraunt at the time for dinner with Ray's great nephew and partner when I saw myself on Street View.
DeleteFame eluded you. Next time . . .
ReplyDeleteEluded you too JB?
DeleteBetter luck next time.
ReplyDeleteDiane, maybe it is better stay off camera.
DeleteAww, you missed out on being able to say "I'm in that!" when someone mentions the film.
ReplyDeleteRiver, can I at least say, I was in that but I had to be cut out as the film was too long.
DeleteAlways show them your best side.
ReplyDeleteTP, when I find one, I will.
DeleteTheir loss indeed:)
ReplyDeletePixie, I think the audience will be happier.
DeleteSorry we won't see you on screen yet, Andrew! Aloha 🌺
ReplyDeleteNot yet Cloudia. I'm not dead yet.
DeleteThey have no idea what they missed.
ReplyDeleteI think they might have, Pat.
DeleteOopsie! Did your heart speed up for just a moment until you saw the truth? Mine would have! (from potential embarrassment, mind you, not from excitement)
ReplyDeleteJenny, that would be me too, embarrassed.
Deletelol
ReplyDeleteLaugh away at my expense, Darla.
