I'm joining with Sami and others for Monday Murals. What is in the coffers to show you this week? They can't all be brilliant.
A box appeared in Prahran Square and as we ate our salad rolls and drank our coffee the artist worked away on mural painting. I didn't take a photo of what was being painted because it was so boring. But these two of a sulphur crested cockatoo and a wedge tailed eagle aren't so bad.
Some people are just so talented . . .
ReplyDeleteJB, yes as a non artistic person, I am so often in awe.
DeleteI don't want to sound petty, but can a free standing canvas be a mural?
ReplyDeleteHels, it is actually a box, temporary one I hope, I think to store equipment for pre schooler entertainment in the square. We have been there a couple of times when it happens in behind the box from where we sit.
DeleteThese are certainly an eye opener. Another place to scout for arts
ReplyDeleteRoentare, I've seen some quite good temporary public art on display at the square.
DeleteSince they're not on buildings, I'm wondering if they're permanent displays.
ReplyDeleteKirk, I am sure they aren't. See comment to Hels above. The location is very bad.
DeleteThey are ok, and I expect artists have to start somewhere Andrew.
ReplyDeleteLol Margaret. Yes, they have to start somewhere.
DeleteI like them, cheerful and bright.
ReplyDeleteRiver, they are indeed and designed for kids, if you look at my reply to Hels above.
DeleteThe birds are nice. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Andrew.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sami. Not exactly fantastic.
DeleteI love the birds, great murals! Take care, enjoy your day and have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much Eileen. Cooler and much nicer for us this week.
DeleteInteresting paintings. Who cares about pedantic definitions of what is a mural? Remember the conceptual art motto: "This is art because I say so."
ReplyDeletebest, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Mae, that is true. Murals by their nature are temporary.
DeleteThese are lovely!
ReplyDeleteME, thank you.
DeleteBig Birds !
ReplyDeleteTP, especially the eagle, perhaps the size of your bald eagle?
DeleteNicely done, Andrew.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat.
DeleteWhat will happen to those canvases now?
ReplyDeleteNot too bad, but a little boring.
ReplyDeleteStrayer, I think being very temporary, not a lot of time went into them.
