Shorpy.com posts wonderful old photos in high resolution, I think only taken in the US. This photo was published some time ago. It's a simple pose but makes the guy looks so sexy. Do you think the woman, who looks older, is a little smitten? Clearly it was a staged photo and the photographer knew exactly what they were doing.
Professor Brett Sutton was Chief Health Officer for the State of Victoria over the period of Covid lockdowns. He was calm and reassuring as day after day he appeared on tv at press conferences. Women and men fell in love with Brett. FYI, he is married to a woman.
I am amused that I wrote he is married to a women. It is a very modern phrase. That 'he is married' would not have needed any qualification in years past. It now does.
There was 'merch' created such as tee shirts, pillows and cushion with the face of Brett. The cult of Brett. I don't know if animated gifs work in Blogger, but it is working here as I created the post. For me, he is nice enough but there are so many hot men in the world and I am a fickle queen. Photos from The Age.
There are indeed many hot people in the world - and I am grateful for the eye candy. Your gif is definitely working.
ReplyDeleteEC, it is nice to think about eye candy, but who can be bothered at my age.
DeleteThe old school photography style is a lost art. Brett Sutton and I used to work together in Maroondah Hospital ED. I got a lot of stories ...
ReplyDeleteRoentare, and after the tease of lots of stories, you aren't going to tell us.
DeleteWell, he is a lot easier on the eye than those we had to look at during the Covid fandango.
ReplyDeleteJayCee, did you have local person fronting tv or someone in England?
DeleteUK TV. We don't have an island TV channel.
DeleteWomen back when that photo was taken seemed to look older than they really were.
ReplyDeleteBrett Sutton was a bright spot on many a miserable day. He could have told us the sky was falling in and it would have been OK.
Ok Merlot. I need to thing about women looking older. It was a horrible time and Sutton along with Norman Swan were so reassuring with their focus on facts.
DeleteBrett is rather dreamy, as is the guy posing in the top photo.
ReplyDeleteJust sayin'.
Bob, I think the slight drop of the shorts on one side of the hunk in the first photo is such a tease.
DeleteThe gif is working nicely and Brett does have a nice face, though I don't recall seeing him anywhere on TV. I'd probably have to move to Melbourne for that, which will never happen, it's too far away from the twins.
ReplyDeleteRiver, to move to Melbourne could have been an option for you, but that is not where your family lives. You are officially an Adelaide girl.
DeleteThat's a good idea that Gif that works Andrew. Brett is rather a nice looking fellow and I didn't know someone had done those things of him, interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe first photo, it's the glasses on the males, that's what it is - just something intriguing about that man..
Margaret, the glasses certainly add to the appeal of him. Not quite perfect.
DeleteFor me, Brett has the misfortune of coming after the man in the top picture, whose face I can't even see. But the shirtlessness won me over.
ReplyDeleteKirk, you are a simple man an easily pleased by a topless man. Aren't gay men so much luckier than straight men because topless men are allowed in public.
DeleteSo much to look at.
ReplyDeleteAnd not touch TP.
DeleteI love the Shorpy photo for so many reasons -- studly guy, and retro charm! I guess having a handsome health officer must have made the pandemic easier. :)
ReplyDeleteSteve, yes it did help to have a calm and handsome man telling us what we needed to know.
DeleteHey, at least you and I still have our sight. ;D Be well!
ReplyDeleteTrue Darla but what senses can a blind person use. Smell, not really but touch might be nice.
DeleteThe first photo couple are both beautiful people. Mr. Brett is quite good looking.
ReplyDeleteStrayer, I've looked at the first photo many times and I still get a kick out of it.
