From the grave

Mother had ordered her children's Christmas gifts and they arrived after she died. Not another bloody Labrador dog calendar. If we don't get a better one, we will use it. Quality tea towels would have been better. They are very localised calendars and so quite useful. I'm sure at times in 2024 I will look at the calendar and think of Mum.

  1. You'll think of her a lot. My mum died in 1986 and I still talk and think of her. But I bet if you had asked your mum for quality tea towels, they would have been Labrador dog quality tea towels.

  2. Do use it and keep the pages. I don't do Xmas celebrations, but I do go out for daily day trips in the heat as a tradition. Also photographing house light up at night.

What a wonderful Mum she must have been. I think any kind of dog calendar is a wonderful present. I always get one of Darren and Phillip Staffy boys calendars for my drag queen loving granddaughter . Proceeds go to dog rescues.

  6. It's a nice enough calendar. I'm sure you will think of your mum every time you look at it. I have ordered one with sugar skulls on it.

  7. The dogs are gorgeous. Of course you will look at it and it will remind you as you say. Lovely to think that she thought of you all before she passed so you will receive a Christmas gift.

  8. If I had your address I would send you a calendar. Or maybe a tea towel.
Your eyes will leak a bit over 2024 as you look at that calendar.

  9. Keep the calendar, Golden Retrievers are the best dogs and it is also the last Christmas gift you will get from your mum.

  10. Sweet, though you don't need a reminder to remember your mother.

  11. When you still have it in 2034, it will still remind you of her.

  12. In memory of your mother, you should acquire a guide dog calendar every year from now on. It is what she would have wanted.

  14. Her buying it probably benefitted a guide dog organization, I'm guessing? So that's part of the gift, too!
