Monday Mural

I can find out who sometimes and I can find the date and location but does it matter? I'm joining in with Sami who lives in our far flung Australian state capital city Perth for Monday Mural.

It is not the most handsome fish and I hope that is not a parasite inside the fish mouth. The white crawly parasites in fish mouths gave me the horrors in my teens when my father caught fish.

  1. The last sight that smaller fish ever see. What a nightmare way to go. And shudder on the parasite front. I really didn't need that mental image this morning.

    1. My apologies EC, even though I carefully calculated the time that you would read this and when you eat breakfast.

    2. Again, your interactions made me laugh out loud. I miss fishing. Fish off the shore of United States' North Carolina were both fun to catch and tasty.

    3. Fresh from the Atlantic Darla, perhaps before overfishing became worse.

  2. It is probably a carp in a river. They triumph Darwinism.

    1. Yeah Roentare, it is carp like. I don't like those enlarged goldfish.

    1. Caro, we are at one with that, although I still like to see kids going fishing out on our local piers.

  5. I'm squeamish around fish now though I caught a fair whack in my time. And that picture does my head in.

    1. WWW, it only happens with grilled salmon, but I feel queasy before I eat it, even though I enjoy it. I am a little queer about eating non processed fish.

  6. I get creepy crawling to think of fish parasites too. Salmon often have them. When people eat sushi, if the fish haven't been frozen to the proper temp for the proper time, you could eat live parasites. I won't eat raw fish.

    1. Ok Strayer, that is interesting about freezing. I knew there was some issue with sushi preparation. I don't eat raw fish, so it isn't something I know about. I have a feeling now that what could be in the fish mouth is called sea lice, and they are perhaps not parasitic.

    1. Margaret, fishing is so boring. Such a long wait for usually little reward.

  8. Carp? Murray Cod? Meh, fish is fish and when it is battered, fried and served with chips it is lovely. Nice mural.

    1. River, it could be a Murray Cod. Fish is great to eat, as long as it doesn't look like a fish with eyes etc.
