I am joining in with Sami for Monday Mural.
This mural is or was very large, painted in the time of one of our periods of Covid lockdown. Covid looks rather relevant in the mural. Rather poignant in Southbank. I had kept within my five kilometre exercise limit.
Very relevant and rather lovely. The affection between the people portrayed is very evident.
ReplyDeleteIt is quite beautiful EC, as typical of the area of the mural they appear to be Asian.
DeleteI suppose during 3 years of Covid people felt isolated and unlovable. Maybe the mural was proposing a way to get around the misery of being alone. I am still feeling the long term effects of isolation now.
ReplyDeleteThanks Hels. I am past the Covid time but R says it has been life changing for him. We certainly missed some overseas travel when we were a bit fitter and younger.
DeleteTwo for the price of one- see the reflection in the windows of the building next door.
ReplyDeleteOnce again Cathy, I did not study my own photo. Thanks.
DeleteLike Cathy, I noticed the reflection of the mural. Kissing someone properly when you are wearing a mask is nigh on impossible but some people have always worn virtual masks.
ReplyDeleteYP, you could rub your masks together as you might do something more intimate.
DeleteI don't think I saw anyone wearing gas masks during Covid. Maybe it was a Southbank thing.
ReplyDeleteCaro, I can't remember where and when but I did see a couple of instances.
DeleteI saw one person wearing a mask like that. But generally no one wore mask during that time, here.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe.
Dora, it was hard there to get people to get anyone to wear a mask, as I remember.
Deletemasked but not social distancing, tsk tsk. Well painted though.
ReplyDeleteRiver, maybe there was quite a lot of masked contact without social distancing, and I don't blame them. Young people have needs.
DeleteIt's nice and a reminder of what most of the world went through at that time.
ReplyDeleteMargaret, I will wait a couple more years to review my feelings and emotions at the time, but it was rough, albeit necessary in my opinion.
DeleteVery well done ! I still wonder how I survived these two years with one little interruption, and a husband who slowly lost his mind !
ReplyDeleteGattina, Covid experience added to what you went through would kill some some people. You are strong and still going on.
DeleteAnonymous = Gattina
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, modern love!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't make you feel sad Steve?
DeleteGood one. It just shows how love transcends barriers.
ReplyDeleteThat's how I feel about it Pradeep.
DeleteI love that comment!
DeleteGreat image of the time, great reflection
ReplyDeleteTP, yet I never noticed the reflection. Thanks.
DeleteIt works so well with the reflection.
ReplyDeletePat, and little did I know that when I published the post. Thanks.
DeleteInteresting artwork. I've heard some great jokes about writing romance scenes during mask mandates...
ReplyDeleteDarla, I have wondered if novels will ignore Covid. So far they seem to be.
DeleteFabulous mural Andrew.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sami.
