When Little M visited and R and she were swimming, I took a look around our facilities and I was pleasantly surprised.
The public bathroom has been renovated and modernised since the last time I checked.
New sauna heating.
A new tap within the sauna to supply water to pour on the sauna heating unit to make humidity.
The surfaces hadn't changed. I suppose the timber is cedar.
There are better controls for both the sauna and the air conditioning. The unit controlling the ambient air temperature in the pool is now sealed and can't be fiddled with.
The gym equipment looks quite new. I know at least one piece was donated. I just admire it from a distance. I don't want any complicated involvement.
The only disappointing concern was the paving badly needs pressure washing.

DeleteIt would be both kind and public-spirited if you offered to pressure-wash the grubby paving stones yourself! If you don't know to operate a pressure washer, I am sure there are YouTube videos that can help.
ReplyDeleteYP, I've done my fair share of volunteer work around the building in the early years. I am retired in more ways than just paid work. Of course I know how to pressure wash. I watch the YT clips posted by Sid in Birmingham at his channel Partridge Exterior Cleaning. He is a master at pressure washing and quite entertaining.

ReplyDeleteDebby, the building was quite impressive when it first opened but it has been far surpassed with luxury of newer and much more expensive buildings. I like you last sentence. I did have a go on a walking machine for a minute. I quickly became bored.
DeleteI will ignore the torture equipment in the gym. But the barbeque, tables and chairs, gardens and area to the tennis court look fun.

DeleteI have to admit the picture of the sauna brought forth some eroticized memories. That sauna was obviously not in an apartment building, but the wood paneling was much the same.

DeleteWell, if the worst you can say is that the pavement needs pressure-washing, that's not so bad! I haven't been in a sauna in about 35 years and I don't think I'd mind never being in one again.

DeleteWe are bad Sami. We only use the facilities when children stay.
If too many people used that exercise equipment, it would get old and icky. Best to admire something like that from a distance.
