I don't have time to muck around with this, so all there is a link to a production of Romeo and Juliet performed in Poland Türkiye whereby an incident happened during the tragic scene of the just dead Romeo. I'm sure many of you will have seen the clip already.

What consummate actors! Thank you for sharing. Be well!
ReplyDeleteI’ve had several conversations about this - the cat is hilarious! I don't know how the actors stayed in character. Bunyip
ReplyDeleteIt's a ballet. The music is playing and the show must go on.
DeleteWow! Yes, of course I love the cat! Thanks for sharing, Andrew. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, Love it for the cultural influence of the day
ReplyDeleteThat is funny.
ReplyDeleteShakespeare left that part out.
ReplyDeleteThat's from Imriz, in Türkiye. (Control-V for that as in your Sasketchewan.)
ReplyDeleteTürkiye has a special culture around cats. Apparently the prophet was a cat-lover. In common with many Islamic societies, they are not so keen on dogs.
There are various recordings of this if you search around. The cat was brought on for a bow (not -wow) at the end.
Of course it was Türkiye. I remembered as soon as I read your comment. I saw the one of the cate taking a bow, but I couldn't easily grab it to use. I meant to mention it in the post. All quite amusing.
DeleteThe cat made the death scene hilarious and I don't know how they didn't break out laughing.
ReplyDeleteWhen it supposed to be so tragic and tearful.
DeleteI hadn't seen it until now. The cat had to do a performance of some kind seeing it was on the stage, Andrew...lol
ReplyDeleteYes. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI think it was DC Fields who said, "never work with children or animals."
ReplyDeleteOMG, Andrew. This is hilarious. Thanks for sharing.
